Darrell H. Mayes
Darrell H. Mayes, affectionately known as Buddy to his family and friends, passed away at home on September 12, 2022. He was born in Chicago, IL on January 2, 1963 to Harold and Roberta (Langley) Mayes.
On May 28, 1993, Darrell married the love of his life; Bonnie (Gunsteen) Mayes in Chicago.
Darrell worked as the Director of Fulfillment in the retail printing business for many years. He loved his German Shepherds; Buddy, Molly and Bella and his grand-cat, Freyja. But, he absolutely adored his daughter, Sara Ann. Darrell was also a big fan of all Marvel movies and history.
Darrell is survived by his Beloved wife, Bonnie; his Loving daughter, Sara Ann; his mother, Roberta (Langley) Derus; his sister, Barbara (Rick) Peterson; and his brother; Harold (Mary Ellen) Mayes Jr; and many nieces and nephews.
Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Harold Mayes; and his sisters, Carol Jordan and Faye Mayes.
Funeral arrangements for Darrell Mayes were entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home and Crematory, 591 Ridgeview Dr, McHenry, IL 60050.
